Adding a pool to your new home build is exciting and it’ll create the ultimate backyard and add value to your property. At King Homes NSW, we understand that you might have several questions about this process. Here, we’ve compiled some of the most commonly asked questions to help guide you through the journey of adding a pool to your new home.

2. How do you decide where best to build my pool?
Choosing the best location for your pool is crucial for both aesthetics and functionality. We suggest positioning your pool in a spot where it can be showcased and easily viewed from inside your home. This not only enhances the visual appeal but also allows for better integration with your outdoor living spaces. The great thing about building a new pool during your home build, is we will ensure your home is engineered to support the pool. This means, we can build the pool closer to the home which in turn allows for a larger pool or a larger backyard.
3. Do I need to speak and obtain permission from my neighbours?
No, you don’t need to obtain permission from your neighbours to build a pool on your property when its done during your new home build. We comply with all conditions, whether its CDC or D.A., and our team will co-ordinate take care of any necessary approvals or notifications where required.
4. What kind of warranty will I have for my pool?
Your new King pool will come with a 6-year structural warranty. This warranty ensures that you have peace of mind knowing your investment is protected against any structural issues that may arise.
5. What happens if you hit rock during the excavation of my pool?
In the event that we encounter rock during the pool excavation, our team will send you a photo/s of the rock found along with our recommended course of action. In most circumstances, we will then charge a cubic meter (m3) rate for the removal of the rock to be able to continue works. This process ensures transparency and allows you to understand any additional costs involved.
6. Is salt, mineral, or chlorine better for my pool?
The choice between salt, mineral, and chlorine pools depends on your personal preferences and budget. Mineral pools, although more expensive to set up, offer a luxurious swimming experience. Our standard King Homes chlorinator is versatile, accommodating both manual and salt options, giving you flexibility in your choice.
7. What kind of maintenance do I need to do for my pool?
One thing to definitely to keep in mind is that maintaining your pool involves regular checks and cleaning. You need to monitor and adjust the pH and chlorine levels regularly to ensure the water remains safe and clean. Additionally, it’s important to wash down the pool walls and vacuum the pool regularly to keep it in pristine condition. We recommend engaging a pool professional at the beginning to get you in the routine of testing the water and cleaning the pool properly.
