Customer Story –Camden – Ascot

When this family first walked through our Ascot display home at HomeWorld Box Hill, they immediately connected with the layout, functionality and lifestyle it offered. Like many homeowners, they wanted a home that would work for their family now while also adapting to their future needs. They were looking for a design that balanced practicality, style and value, without compromising on the spaces that matter most.

The Ascot proved to be exactly that. Originally designed as a display home to showcase the best of modern family living, the Ascot has become one of King Homes NSW’s most popular double-storey designs. Its broad appeal comes from a carefully considered floorplan that combines spacious living areas, practical storage solutions and flexible spaces that can evolve as families grow.

Rather than beginning from scratch, our clients chose to use the Ascot as their starting point. The beauty of working from a proven design is that the hard work has already been done. The floorplan has been refined through years of client feedback, display home visitors and real-world family living. We worked closely with the homeowners to tailor the design to suit their block, lifestyle and future plans while maintaining the features that made the Ascot so successful in the first place.

The result is a home that feels uniquely theirs while benefiting from the efficiency and value of a project home design.

At the heart of the home is a spacious open-plan living area where the kitchen, dining and family room come together. The kitchen features a large island bench, generous storage and a butler’s pantry that helps keep everyday clutter out of sight. Positioned at the centre of the home, it naturally becomes the hub where family and friends gather.

Large glazed doors connect the living areas to the alfresco, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces and making entertaining effortless throughout the year. A separate living room at the front of the home provides a valuable second living area, offering flexibility for movie nights, quiet reading or simply escaping the activity of the main family zone.

One of the reasons the Ascot continues to resonate with families is its focus on everyday functionality. A dedicated mudroom provides a transition space from the garage, helping manage school bags, shoes and the daily flow of family life. The laundry is positioned conveniently within the home’s working areas, improving day-to-day efficiency. These are the types of thoughtful details that may not immediately stand out during a display home visit but make a significant difference once you move in.

Throughout the design, careful attention has been given to storage, circulation and room proportions to ensure the home remains functional for years to come. Durable finishes, energy-efficient lighting and compliant insulation systems contribute to a home that is both comfortable and practical to maintain. By combining thoughtful design with construction efficiency, the Ascot demonstrates how a project home can deliver exceptional value without sacrificing quality or lifestyle.

A Word from Mark King

“The Ascot proves that great design doesn’t have to come with a custom-home price tag. It’s a home that works just as well for growing families today as it will for them in years to come. That’s why it continues to be one of our most popular designs.”
